Plastic kit Academy P-38 Lightning (1:48) — the American twin-boom fighter of the Second World War with parts for several versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Academy captures the American twin-engined fighter Lockheed P-38 Lightning in 1:48 scale. The set is conceived as a combination kit: according to the instructions, several versions can be built from the parts — the P-38J fighter, the variant with the glazed nose (Droopsnoot), the Pathfinder lead ship and the photo-reconnaissance version. The kit has finely engraved panel lines, a well worked-out cockpit and landing gear bay, and soft rubber tires.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engined fighter of the Second World War with its characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle for the pilot and the armament. It stood out for its range, its speed and its rate of climb; it was used as a fighter, a fighter-bomber and a photo-reconnaissance aircraft, above all in the Pacific.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement and lay down a base coat (primer) before painting. The finely engraved lines come out well once a dark panel wash is applied. Spray the metallic surfaces with an airbrush onto a smooth surface and mask the canopy glazing before painting. Follow the instructions carefully according to the version you choose — the nose parts differ.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
