A set of self-adhesive painting masks from Eduard in 1:48 scale. It is not a model but an accessory for building the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. The masks are applied to the canopy glazing and the wheels; after spraying they peel off easily and leave clean, crisp transitions with no paint running over.

The real subject

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engined fighter of the Second World War with its characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle for the pilot and the armament. Thanks to turbocharged engines and a long range it found its place in Europe and in the Pacific alike, where the most successful American fighter aces flew it. It was used for fighter work, for escort and for reconnaissance.

Use

• Transfer the masks carefully onto clean, degreased glazing and press them down so that they adhere well.
• We recommend spraying the color of the inner framing first and then the final covering shade.
• Apply the paint in thin coats with an airbrush, so that it does not run under the edge of a mask.
• Once dry, peel the masks off carefully, ideally with the tip of a knife or with tweezers.
