P-38 Lightning - turned Browning .50 barrels with drilled cooling jackets and 20 mm cannon tips, 1:48 replace the kit plastic parts with more faithful metal ones.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not an airplane model but a detailed metal accessory for a kit of the American P-38 Lightning fighter in 1:48 scale. It contains turned barrels for the Browning .50 caliber machine guns with drilled cooling jackets and 20 mm cannon tips, in both the early and the late form. The metal parts have faithful muzzles beyond the reach of injection-molded plastic.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter of the Second World War with a characteristic twin-boom layout and a central nacelle. The armament was concentrated in the nose of the nacelle and consisted of four Browning .50 caliber machine guns supplemented by a 20 mm cannon.
Cut the plastic barrels off the nose of the nacelle and replace them with the metal parts, ideally into pre-drilled holes. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and apply the paint thinly, so that the muzzles and the cooling jackets stay sharp.
The accessory requires a base kit; glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
