An injection-molded plastic kit of the Mikoyan MiG-29AS fighter in the markings of the Slovak Air Force in 1:72 scale from Great Wall Hobby. The boxing brings attractive Slovak schemes from 2014 and 2016, including a special finish. Check the particular package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The MiG-29 is a twin-engine frontline fighter developed in the Soviet Union. The Slovak Air Force operated the MiG-29AS version, which was created by an upgrade aimed at compatibility with NATO standards; the machines received a reworked radio and navigation system and an identification friend or foe (IFF) system. During their service the Slovak MiG-29s became famous for several striking special finishes that appeared at air shows.
The kit has fine detail, so clean the joints up gently. Paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing the fuselage, and cover the canopy glazing with masks. With the more complex Slovak schemes it pays to use an airbrush and to plan the order of the coats carefully; lay the decals on a glossy base so that they settle without silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
