An accessory propeller set for a model of the P-38 Lightning fighter in 1:48 scale. It replaces the part from the kit with a more accurate release.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-38 Lightning is an American twin-engine fighter of the Second World War with an unmistakable silhouette: the cockpit sits in the central nacelle and two booms run back from it to the tail surfaces. The engines are Allison V-1710 V12 units and on the real subject the propellers of the two engines turned against each other, which evened out the behavior of the aircraft at full power. With this silhouette the propellers are very much on view, so it pays to have them fine on a model.
The set replaces the propeller from the kit with a more accurate release with thinner blades and a sharper section. If the set distinguishes the left and the right side, go by the manufacturer's instructions, so that the direction of rotation matches the real subject. The parts are not polystyrene and are attached with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part, sand the rest down and level the mating surface, so that the propeller sits on the axis. Wash and degrease the parts before painting.
For builders of the P-38 model in 1:48 scale who are bothered by the thickness of the blades on the propellers from the kit, and for anyone who builds a model for a display case and looks at it from close up.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Which kit the set is cut for should be checked in the manufacturer's references.
