Resin wheels for the Bell P-39 Airacobra, early version, in 1:48 scale from Eduard replace the simplified plastic parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Eduard resin range brings replacement main landing gear wheels for the Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in its early configuration, 1:48 scale. This is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic wheels from the original kit. The tires are cast with a faithful tread pattern and a realistic flattening where they touch the ground, reproducing the load on a machine standing on its gear. Sets of this kind usually come with self-adhesive masks for an easy, clean separation of the tire from the rim when painting.
The Bell P-39 Airacobra was an American fighter with an unusual layout: the engine sat behind the pilot and it had a nose landing gear. It was widely used by the Soviet Air Force, where it was a popular machine for combat at low altitude.
Wash the wheels to remove the mold release agent and separate them from the casting block. Wheels are exactly where the advantage of resin shows: a crisp tread and a clean hub. It is best to use the enclosed masks, or else to mask the division between the rim and the tire carefully yourself.
This is an accessory set, not a stand-alone model. The paints, the glue and the base model are not included in the package.
