Eduard 1:48 P-40 fishtail exhaust stacks (PRINT) is a set of 3D printed replacement fishtail exhausts for models of the Curtiss P-40 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory to a plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains 3D printed fishtail exhaust stacks intended for models of the American Curtiss P-40 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a model of an aircraft nor a kit — it is an accessory (an upgrade) with which you replace the exhausts from the plastic kit. The parts are made by direct 3D printing, so they have sharper edges, finer surface detail and suggested hollow mouths of the kind injection-molded plastic usually cannot capture in this scale.
On the P-40 the exhausts sit in a very exposed place on the fuselage and the eye catches them first. That is exactly why replacing them is one of the fastest and most visible improvements to the whole model. The set is conceived as a direct replacement for the parts of the plastic P-40 kit in 1:48 scale — before gluing it is advisable to check the seating in the fuselage of your particular kit with a dry fit.
For modelers who build the Curtiss P-40 in 1:48 scale and want to take the detail of the model beyond the contents of the box. Working with thin printed parts takes patience and a sharp tool, so the set will be appreciated by more advanced builders.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
