This item is a vacuum-formed clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Rob Taurus. It is NOT a kit of the aircraft but a replacement cockpit part for a model of the American Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter in the N version. The clear thin-walled material gives glazing that is more faithful to scale and cleaner than the thicker production parts.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a liquid-cooled V12 engine. The P-40N version was the most widely produced and at the same time the last main production variant; it was notable for its lightening and for changes made to raise performance.
Cut the canopy out slightly outside the outline and sand it down to an exact fit. Glue it with clear glue for transparent parts or with thin gel cyanoacrylate, so that no fogging occurs. Mask the frames before spraying. The thin material also makes it possible to show the cockpit open.
This is a standalone accessory (a canopy), not a complete model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
