The resin set P-40B cockpit set from Aires in 1:48 scale. A detail resin cockpit for the early Curtiss P-40B fighter; it is not an airplane model but a replacement pilot's compartment for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail resin set of the pilot's compartment, not an airplane model. The set replaces the cockpit from a plastic kit with a resin form with a finely modeled instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and the frame. It matches the early P-40B form, which differs in cockpit details from the later versions of the P-40 family. The set is intended for more experienced modelers; to seat it, the inner fuselage walls of the kit usually have to be adapted. It is made by Aires.
The Curtiss P-40B was an early version of the American P-40 fighter from the beginning of the Second World War. It was powered by the Allison V-1710 V12 engine, and the machine was marked by a slim fuselage with its characteristic radiator under the nose. The type served in the day fighter and fighter-bomber roles with a number of Allied units.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin and ventilate the space. The cockpit is painted before the fuselage is closed; the interior is brought to life by a wash into the recesses, a dry brush on the edges and color separation of the seat harness.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
