Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed photo-etched set from Eduard aimed at the landing flaps of the plastic model of the Curtiss P-40C fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory. The set replaces the coarser plastic flaps with a fine photo-etched structure and as a rule lets them be shown in the extended position.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American fighter of the Second World War period, driven by a V12 engine and famous for its massive nose with the radiator. The C version, the Tomahawk in British service, was among the early variants and saw combat in the opening stages of the war. The machine was tough and able to take damage.
The flaps are made up of photo-etched layers, which are bent in a photo-etch bending tool and joined with super glue. The matching plastic parts have to be cut away carefully and cleaned up. Degrease the parts before the clear coat and spray on a primer.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
