Tamiya LP-32 Light Gray modeling paint, a light gray shade for Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft. Choose the thinner according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
LP-32 Light Gray is a light gray shade from the Tamiya LP modeling line and carries the qualifier IJN, that is Imperial Japanese Navy. Japanese naval aircraft wore light gray finishes above all in the early phase of the Second World War, before dark green camouflage took hold on the upper surfaces. The shade suits the undersides as well as the all-over early finish, and it serves equally well wherever you need a neutral light gray to set panels apart or to brighten a base color.
Stir the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles when it stands. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the package, as this is a line with its own thinner. Apply the paint in thin coats and let it dry between coats, because one heavy coat clogs the engraved detail and runs. Start masking only once it has dried through, or the tape will pull the paint off. Clean the brush and the airbrush with the thinner intended for this line after the work.
It will be appreciated by builders of Japanese aviation subjects who want the shade straight from the bottle and do not mix it themselves. It also finds use outside that field wherever a gray should be on the light side and without a color cast. Small scales take the shade as it is; on large areas it pays to add a drop of white in the middle of a panel and play the differences between panels about gently.
Thinner, brushes and modeling tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
