An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard. The model captures the characteristic machine with its liquid-cooled V12 engine and its six wing machine guns. Eduard releases this kit in the ProfiPACK and Weekend editions; the exact contents of the package, the extras (photo-etched parts, masks) and the number of decal schemes differ from edition to edition. Which edition this is follows from the manufacturer's part number.
The P-40E was among the most widely used American fighters of the early Second World War. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Allison V-1710 V12 engine and carried six large-caliber machine guns in the wings. It flew with the US Army Air Forces, with the Royal Air Force under the name Kittyhawk and with other Allied air forces in the Pacific, in North Africa and on further fronts.
Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement, fill the seams and sand them smooth. It is worth painting the cockpit interior and picking it out before the fuselage is closed. Apply a gloss coat before the decals; round off the typical Allied schemes (an olive upper surface and a light underside) with a panel line wash and light wear applied with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
