A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set replaces the exhaust pipes of the American Curtiss P-40M fighter (known in the Commonwealth as the Kittyhawk III) in 1:48 scale. The row of exhaust stubs along the sides of the engine cowling is cast with hollowed openings, so the laborious drilling of plastic parts falls away. The part is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
On the P-40 the exhausts are always in view and the way they are rendered strongly affects the overall impression a model makes. The resin casting offers thin walls and open mouths that are hard to form in solid plastic. Once painted in metallic and rust shades and lightly weathered, the burnt metal looks entirely natural.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
