Responsibility details are not available.
An Eduard detail set from the SPACE range in 1:48 scale for a model of the American Curtiss P-40N Warhawk fighter. The SPACE range combines 3D decals with the relief of instruments and panels, printed on a carrier decal paper, with colored photo-etched parts such as the seat belts. The cockpit thus gains a colorful and three-dimensional look without laborious hand painting.
The Curtiss P-40N Warhawk was one of the later and lightest production versions of the well-known American fighter, with the characteristic nose of a liquid-cooled V12 engine. It was used on a number of fronts of the Second World War, among them the Pacific and Burma. The P-40 became famous for the shark mouth painted on the nose by some units. A carefully rendered cockpit is one of the details that bring a finished model to life.
Prepare the surface under the elements smooth and degreased. Moisten only the carrier paper with a sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element off with tweezers and fix it with white PVA glue. Do not use a decal softener or a decal setter; their chemistry attacks the printed resin and destroys the element. Separate the colored photo-etched parts from the fret and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. The manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue on the 3D element itself. The set is designed for a particular plastic P-40N model in the given scale.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
