A photo-etched accessory set for the model of the Republic P-47D-20 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was among the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. A tough fuselage, a roomy cockpit and eight 12.7 mm machine guns in the wings made it a machine that could take a hit and still destroy ground targets. The D-20 version still had the original high spine behind the cockpit, known by the established term razorback, that is the standard before the later bubble canopy with the cut-down spine.
Metal photo-etch replaces the parts on a model that come out too thick in plastic, and adds details too fine to be drawn out of a mold. In 1:48 scale such a swap shows clearly, especially in the cockpit and on parts that in reality have the thickness of sheet metal. The extent of the parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts out with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remaining material at the part away. Make the bend in the marked groove, ideally in a bending tool, so that the edge is not rounded. Choose super glue and lay it on in the smallest amount with the tip of a wire. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer. Fit the parts meant for the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
