1:48 P-47D Razorback

DP Casper — P-47D Razorback (decal set, 1:48)

This is a decal set (wet decals) in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer DP Casper. The set brings markings for the American fighter Republic P-47D Thunderbolt in the Razorback version — that is with the original fuselage spine and the framed canopy, before the bubble version was introduced. It is not a kit or an aircraft model but an accessory with which you finish the markings of a matching P-47D Razorback model.

The real subject

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive American fighter of the Second World War with a radial engine and excellent toughness. The early Razorback versions had a spine running from the cockpit to the tail and a framed canopy that limited the view to the rear; later versions received a bubble canopy. The Razorbacks made their name as escort fighters and as attack machines over Europe and carried colorful unit and personal markings.

Use

• Cut the decal out, dip it in lukewarm water and slide it onto the model.
• Apply it onto a gloss varnished surface to limit silvering.
• Settle it with a decal softener and fix it with a matte or satin varnish.
• Suitable for matching P-47D Razorback models in 1:48 scale.

This is a decal set, not a kit. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
