A resin engine for the P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale by the manufacturer Quickboost, a detail accessory for experienced modelers and not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin casting of the air-cooled radial engine for the American fighter P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale by the brand Quickboost. It is not an aircraft model but an accurate replacement part for experienced modelers that replaces the simplified engine from the kit with a faithful casting showing the detail of the cylinders, the valve gear and the ancillaries. The part comes into its own above all in a build with the cowling open, where the power unit is visible.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the largest and heaviest single-seat fighters of the Second World War; it was powered by a turbocharged eighteen-cylinder radial engine that gave the aircraft its strength at high altitude as well. A faithfully rendered engine is therefore a rewarding detail that adds authenticity to a model.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a saw, sand the surfaces and protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue with cyanoacrylate. It is worth spraying the engine with a base color, picking the cylinders and the valve gear out in metallic shades and deepening the whole with a dark wash; the small lines can be brought out with a dry brush.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
