A resin detail set of landing gear wheels for models of the P-47D Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard. It contains cast main wheels and the tail wheel, which replace the plastic parts from the kit. The castings give a sharper tread, hubs and a realistic tire profile. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for raising the detail.
Resin wheels tend to be more faithful than two plastic halves glued together: they have no parting seam on the tread and hold a round shape better. The set is intended for building the landing gear of the P-47D and is fitted in place of the original plastic wheels.
First wash the parts free of the remains of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and clean up the surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways when sanding resin. A base of primer and spraying with an airbrush are recommended.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The glue, the paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
