The P-51 Mustang is an American single-seat fighter aircraft of the Second World War. It was driven by a twelve-cylinder V engine and thanks to a large supply of fuel it had a range that fighters of the time usually did not have, so it could accompany bomber formations deep over enemy territory. A standing Mustang rested on two main wheels under the wing and those carried a substantial part of the weight of the machine.
The set replaces the wheels from a kit with wheels whose lower part of the tire is flattened, as if the machine stood on them. It is exactly this detail that decides whether a finished model looks heavy or as if it were floating a little above the surface. The number in the designation sets the individual forms within the range apart, because the wheels of this type occurred in more shapes. Which form matches your machine, compare against the documentation.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the part; with parts that are not of polystyrene cyanoacrylate glue has proved itself. The most important thing is the seating: the flattening has to point at the ground and the model has to stand straight on both wheels, so try the position dry first and only then glue. Do not paint the tire purely black; a dark gray with a hint of dust looks more faithful, and separate the wheel hub with a mask.
For modelers who build the Mustang in 1:48 scale and want to stand a model on the ground more convincingly than with production wheels. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
