This resin Aires set in 1:48 scale is a detail accessory, not an airplane model. It replaces the cockpit in a kit of the P-51B or P-51C fighter with a faithfully cast instrument panel, side consoles, a seat and other features that injection-molded plastic usually simplifies.
The North American P-51B and P-51C were the early versions of the Mustang fighter with the classic framed canopy, still before the bubble canopy was introduced on the D version. A V12 engine and long range made them a valuable escort fighter for bomber formations.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and bond with super glue. The interior is best painted and assembled before the fuselage is closed. The instruments and the belts come into their own once picked out with a dark wash and a dry brush.
This is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue and paints are not included in the package.
