Big Sin is a line of larger resin add-on sets from the Czech manufacturer Eduard that bring several sub-assemblies together in one box. This item is aimed at the external armament and stores of the Panavia Tornado in the GR.1 and GR.4 versions in 1:48 scale. It is therefore not an aircraft model but an accessory that takes a part-built plastic kit to a level of detail injection-molded plastic cannot offer on its own. The exact make-up of the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions and by the illustration on the packaging.
The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing and two afterburning turbofan engines. The British GR.1 version was intended for action against ground targets from low altitude, and the GR.4 is its later upgrade with revised avionics and wider options for carrying stores. It is precisely the underwing load that forms a prominent external feature of this type, and the first thing anyone notices on a finished model.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, never break them. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate super glue; ordinary plastic cement has no effect on resin. Apply a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth surface. Stores usually look better if you paint and highlight them off the model and fit them at the very end of the build.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
