This resin detail set from Eduard contains replacement landing gear wheels for PBY-5A Catalina models in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but an aftermarket accessory with which you replace the plastic wheels of a base kit with more finely cast resin parts. A painting mask is usually included.
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American amphibious flying boat used widely in the Second World War for maritime patrol, search and rescue and attacks on submarines. The PBY-5A version had retractable wheeled landing gear, which allowed it to operate from land as well as from the water.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do any sanding with respiratory protection. Spray the rims and the tires separately; the mask gives a clean division between the rim color and the rubber.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
