This is a resin aftermarket detail set, not an aircraft model. It holds faithfully cast exhaust stubs for models of the Soviet twin-engine Petlyakov Pe-2 bomber in 1:48 scale. The castings have the openings of the exhausts represented and they replace the simplified plastic parts from the box.
Exhausts are a small but conspicuous feature on engine nacelles. Resin castings with the openings drawn out look more realistic than plastic and they take weathering better. The set is intended for one particular type of aircraft, and it is advisable to check the fit before building.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks away and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection when sanding resin. For painting, a primer and dark shading of the openings work well.
This is an accessory for advanced modelers. The kit itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
