Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic aircraft kit in 1:48 scale from Special Hobby. It captures the early German fighter monoplane Pfalz E.I of the First World War period. It is a short-run kit that modelers with experience of more careful building will appreciate.
The Pfalz E.I was one of the first German fighter monoplanes and was based on the Eindecker layout with a wire-braced wing. It was in action in 1915 and 1916 and carried a forward synchronized machine gun firing through the propeller disc, which made it an effective weapon in the early period of air combat. It was powered by a rotary engine and, together with the other Eindeckers, helped shape the beginnings of fighter aviation.
Short-run molds call for cleaning the parts up and dry-fitting them before gluing. Use thin cement for plastic and fine super glue for the small parts. The bracing wires are a characteristic feature and are worth adding with thin thread. Lay down primer before painting and bring out the fabric surfaces with light shading.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
