An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It captures the modern Chinese multirole fighter Chengdu J-10C in the service of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). The box contains a generous set of external stores, decals and, according to the manufacturer, small photo-etched parts as well; paints, glue and accessories are not included.
The J-10C is the latest production version of the single-engine J-10 fighter. Its characteristic feature is the diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI) and a modern active electronically scanned radar. The machine carries out both air combat and ground attack tasks and can carry a wide range of Chinese air-to-air and air-to-ground guided missiles. It is one of the mainstays of today's Chinese fighter force.
Pay attention to the shape of the DSI intake and to the cockpit; the clear canopy glazing stands out with painting masks. Fit the stores and the armament only after the airframe is painted. Glue the plastic with thin cement and lay down a primer before the airbrush. The light gray camouflage rewards subtle shading of the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
