This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss represents the Chinese two-seat JJ-5 jet trainer. The package contains gray plastic, clear canopy parts and a decal sheet with the markings of the People's Liberation Army Air Force. The model is meant to be assembled and painted.
The JJ-5 is the Chinese two-seat training version derived from the J-5 series jet fighter, that is, from the license-built MiG-17. It combines the airframe and the power plant of the fighter with a tandem cockpit for an instructor and a student, and it served to train the pilots of the People's Liberation Army Air Force and of other operators.
Use liquid cement on the plastic joints and take care that the fuselage halves line up cleanly. We recommend a primer and an airbrush; natural metal as well as camouflage finishes come out well with a fine wash and graded matting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
