The Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Late engine 1:48 (Metallic Details) is a resin and photo-etched accessory that replaces the simplified engine in a basic kit with a convincing model of the Twin Wasp radial.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of an aircraft. The set combines resin and finely photo-etched parts into a convincing rendering of the R-1830 radial engine in its late configuration. It replaces the simplified engine from the kit on models in 1:48 scale.
The Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp is an American air-cooled radial engine with fourteen cylinders in two rows. It powered a great many aircraft of the Second World War, among them four-engine bombers and transports. The late version differed in the details of its accessories.
Wash the mold release off the resin parts and cut the casting blocks away with respiratory protection. Bond the photo-etched elements with super glue. Assemble and spray the engine before it is closed inside the cowling; pick out the wiring and the cylinders with drybrushing and a fine wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
