Exotic Decals 1:48 Protectors of the Republic: Me 109 G in Yugoslav service is a decal set in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, but a set of markings for a model that is already built.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set in 1:48 scale devoted to Messerschmitt Bf 109 G airplanes that served in the Yugoslav Air Force. It is an accessory for a plastic kit: the decals are applied to a model that is finished, painted and prepared with a gloss clear coat. For a modeler it is a way to build a machine with less usual national insignia from a commonly available kit.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G, often given in period and in modeling practice as the Me 109 G as well, was the most widespread development family of this single-engined fighter. It was powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 605 V12 engine. After the end of the Second World War a large number of airworthy and repairable machines remained in Europe and were taken over by postwar air forces. The Yugoslav Air Force was among them, and the Bf 109 G served with it carrying its own national insignia and a different camouflage finish, which is an attractive subject for modelers.
The set contains waterslide decals. Apply a gloss clear coat to the model, and only then do the decals belong on it, because on a matte surface a silvery haze would appear under the film. Cut the decal out close to the motif, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it lie until it releases. Slide it into place, press out the surplus water and blot it away. A decal softener makes the film supple so that it settles into the engraved panel lines and over the rivets; do not handle the decal while the softener is acting. Once it has dried, seal the whole model with a matte or satin varnish, which unifies the surface and hides the edges.
The set contains only decals. The kit, paints, varnish and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
