An injection-molded plastic kit of the Polish twin-engined bomber PZL.37 Los in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The boxing represents the B version, that is, the main production form with twin vertical tail surfaces. With a twin-engined aircraft the larger 1:48 scale means a respectable span of the finished model, and at the same time the details of the cockpit and the engine nacelles stand out better. The model is supplied as an unassembled set of plastic parts with decals.
In the second half of the 1930s the PZL.37 Los was among the most modern European medium bombers. Its aerodynamically clean all-metal structure with a retractable landing gear gave it a very favorable ratio between its own weight and the weight of the bomb load for the time, so it carried a load comparable with substantially larger machines. The main production type was the B version with twin vertical tail surfaces and more powerful powerplants. The aircraft joined the fighting in September 1939 and some of the machines then left Polish territory.
With a twin-engined aircraft it pays to verify the joints of the fuselage, the wings and the nacelles dry beforehand and to watch the alignment of the engines and the dihedral of the wing. Finish the interior of the cockpit before you close the fuselage, as in 1:48 scale a great deal of it is visible once glazed. Glue the transparent parts with canopy glue. Apply a filler primer before painting, spray the camouflage shades with an airbrush and use a gloss varnish under the decals. Once it has dried unify the surface with a matte varnish and bring out the panel lines with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
