The basic radar version of the Soviet missile 1:48 R-27R - AA-10 Alamo A by AMMO of Mig Jimenez for models of the MiG-29 and the Su-27 in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The starting member of the Soviet medium-range missile family, the one that appeared under the wings of the new fighters first. The scale replica is intended to be hung on a finished kit.
When the MiG-29 and the Su-27 entered line service in the middle of the nineteen-eighties, they needed a weapon that would let them attack before the opponent came into view. That weapon became the R-27 in its basic form with semi-active radar guidance: the onboard radar of the carrier illuminates the target and the missile steers by the reflected signal. The disadvantage is the need to keep the target illuminated until the hit, and the advantage is reliability and a reasonable weight, thanks to which lighter machines could afford it as well. The body is shorter than on the long-range variants with an enlarged motor. The butterfly-shaped wings in the middle of the body cannot be missed.
Try the seating on the rack dry and adjust the contact face if need be. The shade tends to be light, with a darker seeker head and colored bands; for a straight dividing line reach for masking tape. Compare the rotation of the wings with a drawing, as it is precisely here that most inaccuracies arise. Hang the missiles as the last step of the build.
To finish it you will need your own paints, glue and, of course, a model of the carrier.
