The resin R-2800-10 engine from Eduard in 1:48 scale. A premium resin detail set that replaces the American radial powerplant on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Brassin range, which brings a faithfully rendered American Pratt & Whitney R-2800 two-row radial engine to a model. The set is cast in resin with photo-etched parts added; the individual cylinders, the block, the cowlings and the propeller reduction gear are separate, so that once assembled the engine looks markedly more realistic than the part from the box. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement powerplant.
The R-2800 Double Wasp was an eighteen-cylinder air-cooled radial engine that powered a range of American fighters and bombers of the Second World War. It was among the most powerful and most reliable engines of its day.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Support the thin engine cowlings with the photo-etched parts. Bring out the cylinders with a dry brush and a wash, and paint in the wiring and the details for the greatest effect. Sand the resin with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
