This product is not an airplane model but a detail accessory (an aftermarket set) in 1:48 scale from Eduard. It contains 3D-printed main landing gear legs that replace the parts from the plastic kit and bring sharper, finer and more faithful detail. The set is prepared specifically for the kit of the Republic P-47 D Thunderbolt Razorback from MiniArt, and without that basic kit you cannot make use of it.
3D printing makes it possible to produce the landing gear legs in finer detail than series plastic offers, with the texture of the hydraulics, the joints and the surface faithfully captured. The parts are fitted in place of the original plastic landing gear legs and raise the realism of the landing gear, which is very much on view, considerably. The set is intended specifically for the early razorback version of the P-47D, with a fuselage spine and no bubble canopy.
Separate the 3D-printed parts carefully from their supports with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors, clean the cuts up and sand them lightly. Glue with cyanoacrylate; protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush in thin coats; the detail of the landing gear comes out once it is picked out with a wash.
