Photo-etched parts for the model of the Republic P-47D-25-RE Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale. An add-on for a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the largest and heaviest single-engined fighters of World War II. It escorted bomber formations and in the second half of the war it made its name mainly on attacks against ground targets, where its toughness counted. The D-25 version belongs among the variants with a bubble canopy and a cut-down fuselage spine, which at last gave the pilot a view to the rear; the letters after the production block number tell apart the plant where the machine was built.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. The etching replaces plastic parts that would come out too thick in this scale and adds detail that cannot be molded into a kit. Which parts the fret carries, where they belong and which kit the set is prepared for is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Leave the fret in one piece and take from it only the part that is next in line; cut the tab with a sharp blade on a hard surface. Make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool or over the edge of a steel ruler, always in one pass and along the whole length. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue laid on in a tiny dose with the tip of a wire, because the excess shows up as a white haze once it dries. Wash the metal before painting, degrease it and lay down a primer suited to metal, or the finish will soon chip on the edges.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery unless stated otherwise.
