1:48 Round lightening holes is a universal photo-etched material for completing models, not a kit. It serves where the internal structure is visible on a model and a plastic rib has its lightening holes only suggested by a depression.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory brings photo-etched elements with round lightening holes. It is neither a model nor a set tied to a particular kit: it is material that a modeler cuts and places according to what they need to cover or replace on their own model. The main benefit is simple: a hole in photo-etched metal goes all the way through, so there is shadow and space behind it.
Round cut-outs are typical of ribs, bulkheads and stiffeners where weight was taken off with a regular row of holes. On a model you will find them in landing gear bays, inside the fuselage of machines under construction, in the area behind the cockpit, in diorama scenes with a dismantled structure and in kitbashes where the builder makes their own interior.
Paint the photo-etched metal while it is still on the fret or on a stick, not once it is on the model: you will not reach into the small holes with a brush after gluing. Degreasing with alcohol and a thin base coat are a must. When cutting, run the scalpel along the row of holes, not across it. If you need to bend a strip, bend it away from the holes and preferably in a bending tool, because the material tears most readily where it is perforated. Laying a dark backing under the finished part proves its worth, as it gives the holes depth.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
