1:48 Mi 2 BASIC kabuki masks

Mil Mi-2 painting masks — BASIC 1:48 (New Ware)

A set of pre-cut painting masks at the BASIC level in 1:48 scale from New Ware. This is neither a model nor decals but an aid that makes it easier to spray the glazing frames and the basic surfaces cleanly when painting a model of the Mil Mi-2 helicopter. The masks are made from thin self-adhesive kabuki (washi) tape, which follows shapes well and leaves crisp edges.

Use

• stick the masks exactly onto the cabin frames and the glazing according to the layout enclosed
• press the edges down carefully so that no paint creeps under them
• spray the surfaces with an airbrush or with spray paint in thin coats
• once dry, lift the masks carefully, ideally while the paint is still fresh

Who the masks are for

For modelers in 1:48 scale who want crisp transitions on the glazing without laborious masking with tape. The BASIC level covers the key features of the glazing and suits less experienced builders too.

The masks are an aid for painting. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
