1:48 Soviet RS-82 unguided rockets are a resin accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. The castings replace or supplement the external stores of Soviet machines of the Second World War with a sharpness of detail that injected plastic does not reach.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds resin castings of the Soviet RS-82 unguided rockets for completing an airplane model. It is not a kit. Resin is chosen for small ordnance because it holds sharp edges, captures the fins faithfully and has no mold parting line running across the whole part that would have to be laboriously sanded out.
The RS-82 was a Soviet unguided aircraft rocket of 82 mm caliber, introduced before the Second World War and carried under the wings of a number of Soviet types. It was fired from rail or tube mounts under the wing and was used against ground and aerial targets alike. On a model it is a prominent feature: several rockets under each wing half change the overall look of the machine substantially.
First wash the parts in warm water with dish soap and a brush, so that the residue of the release agent from the mold comes off the surface, or the paint will not hold on them. Do not snap the casting blocks off; cut them with a saw or a cutter and level the surface with a file. Protect your breathing when sanding resin, as the dust is fine. It is bonded exclusively with super glue; cement for plastic does not work on resin. Before fitting them under the wing, mark the position of the mounts in pencil so that the rockets hang parallel and at equal spacings.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled, as resin castings. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
