A segment of the deck of an American aircraft carrier in 1:48 scale, made as a base under a finished model or as the foundation of a smaller diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The flight deck of an American aircraft carrier is the workplace where the machines of the carrier air wing spend most of their time out of the air. It differs from an ordinary runway at first glance: arrestor wires, prominent guide and taxi lines, hatches and a non-skid surface that carries the marks of unbroken operation. Such a base gives a displayed model the scale and the story that a shelf on its own does not offer.
It is the surface of a deck segment in 1:48 scale, that is, a base under an assembled model or the foundation of a small scene with ground crew and equipment. The manufacturer's data sheet and instructions state the material, the dimensions and the way it is made.
Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Settled dust and grease from fingers are the most common reason why paint holds unevenly on a base and why the edges of markings tear.
It will be appreciated by modelers who want to display a finished machine in a setting, and by everyone who photographs models. Paints, glue and additional figures are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise; check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's data sheet.
