A set of self-adhesive painting masks (kabuki) from the maker New Ware in 1:48 scale for a model of the carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft Grumman S-2E/S-2G Tracker (the earlier designation S2F). The ADVANCED version brings a complete set of masks of the canopy glazing — inner and outer masks and masks for the color of the frame seals — and the masks of the landing gear wheels in addition. The masks ensure sharp, clean edges of the frames without laborious sticking of strips of tape and speed up painting markedly.
The Grumman S-2 Tracker was a twin-engine carrier-based aircraft intended for searching out and destroying submarines. Two piston radial engines powered it and, thanks to its great range and endurance, it served from the fifties for a number of decades with the navies of many countries. The S-2E and S-2G versions represented later modernized variants with improved equipment.
Lift the masks off the sheet carefully, lay them on the glazing according to the numbering and press them down. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, so that it does not run under the edge. First spray the color of the frames, then the final camouflage. Lift the masks off carefully once dry.
This is a set of masks, not a model. The model of the airplane and the paints are not included in the package.
