Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the unconventional Swedish fighter SAAB J 21A-3 in 1:48 scale from Pilot Replicas. The kit boasts a fine engraved surface, photo-etched parts and good decals. The multi-part canopy glazing can be built in the open or the closed position.
The SAAB J 21 was an exceptional fighter with twin tail booms and a pusher propeller mounted behind the pilot, powered by a liquid-cooled V12 engine. The J 21A-3 version received improved armament with a Bofors cannon and machine guns. The unusual layout with the engine at the rear called for an ejection seat so that the pilot would avoid the turning propeller when leaving the aircraft in an emergency. The type served with the Swedish Air Force from the middle of the 1940s and is one of the most striking designs of postwar development.
Use liquid cement for plastic and finish the cockpit interior before you close the fuselage. Cover the glazing with a mask, apply a primer and spray thin coats of the covering color with an airbrush. Consider gluing the multi-part canopy only after painting, so that the detailed interior shows. Make sure the tail booms are seated correctly so that the model sits true on its axis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
