The set is aimed at the inside of the rear part of the fuselage of the three-engine Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for a plastic kit of the same type and scale. Eduard lists it in its full photo-etched range, that is in a more extensive form than the smaller Zoom sets offer.
The rear part of the fuselage was on the SM.79 both a living and a working space for the crew, where the gunners and the radio operator moved about. It can be seen into through the side windows and the open gun positions, but an injection mold usually renders that space as nothing but smooth walls. Photo-etched metal sheet makes it possible to add the ribbing, the floor gratings, the brackets, the mountings and further inner structure in a true thickness of material, so the interior looks full and the depth of the fuselage is apparent.
Have a sharp scalpel, tweezers and a photo-etch bending tool ready; small parts hold best on super glue applied in the smallest possible amount. Put the more extensive inner assemblies together first and try them dry in one half of the fuselage, because once it is closed you can no longer get at them. It also pays to think out in advance where light will reach the interior from, and to choose the shades accordingly.
