An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the South Korean brand Academy. It captures the Vought SB2U-3 Vindicator carrier-borne scout and dive bomber. The package contains plastic sprues, clear parts and a decal sheet; some releases add photo-etched parts and a masking film as well. The exact contents depend on the particular box.
The Vought SB2U Vindicator was a carrier-borne scout and dive bomber of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps. By the time the war in the Pacific broke out it already counted among the older types. The SB2U-3 version became famous for its use at the Battle of Midway in 1942, where it was flown by Marine Corps units.
Work up and paint the cockpit and the interior before closing up the fuselage. Glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic. Prewar and early war naval schemes tend to be colorful, so an airbrush and careful masking pay off. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and pick out the panel lines with a wash. Mask the clear parts and paint them last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
