This is not an airplane model but a detail accessory: a resin set of replacement control surfaces for a model of the SBD Dauntless carrier-based dive bomber. Replacing the rudder, the elevators and the flaps lets you show the surfaces deflected and gives the model the livelier, more realistic look of a parked aircraft. The set is intended for SBD Dauntless models in 1:48 scale.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier-based dive bomber of the Second World War. Its perforated dive brakes and flaps were a distinctive feature, and deflected control surfaces are a typical sight on aircraft parked on a deck or on an airfield.
Cut the original surfaces off the plastic kit as shown in the instructions and replace them with the resin ones. Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do the sanding with respiratory protection. Mind the correct angle of deflection for the situation you choose.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
