The Quinta Studio set brings colored fittings for the inside of the vehicle printed with 3D technology on decal paper. The instruments, the controls, the walls of the fighting compartment and further details have three-dimensional depth and factory color, so painting falls away. It is not a vehicle kit but an upgrade accessory for a plastic model of the Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf.D half-track in 1:48 scale.
The Sd.Kfz 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War and the backbone of the mechanized infantry. The Ausf.D version had a simplified body that was cheaper to produce. The open fighting compartment makes a well-worked interior a prominent visible area of the model.
The elements have no adhesive layer; they are printed on carrier decal paper. So coat the surfaces of the interior with a gloss clear coat (Future/Klear, Tamiya X-22), dip the cut-out part for fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slide it off the paper into place. On busy shapes a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or setter, as they would attack the printed resin. The inside needs no further painting; it is worth finishing with suitable weathering from the outside.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
