Injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese fighter Kawanishi N1K2-J Shiden-Kai in 1:48 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. This variant captures the early production batch (Early Version). The model is typical for its quality injection tooling and accurate engraved surface texture. The N1K2-J Shiden-Kai (Allied code name George) was one of the best Japanese fighters of the close of the Second World War. It was created by reworking an earlier floatplane fighter into a conventional land-based aircraft with a low wing, which simplified manufacture as well as flying. It was powered by the powerful Nakajima Homare radial engine and the machine was prized for its good handling and strong cannon armament. It was deployed in the defense of Japanese airspace.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, sand the joints and preserve the fine engraved texture. Paint and highlight the cockpit interior before closing up the fuselage. Japanese naval fighters carried a dark green upper surface with a light underside; after the varnish and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add measured wear to match intensive service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
