A suspended slaughtered pig is a classic subject for dioramas of a farmyard, a field kitchen, a supply area or a butcher's shop. In a scene it works as an accent in height, because it hangs above the ground and draws the viewer's eye up from the floor to a beam or to the frame of a gateway. It combines well with figures of soldiers or civilians in the same scale and with small yard equipment.
Wash resin castings in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting, so that a surface free of mold residue takes the paint well. Cut any casting block off with a saw or a sharp knife rather than with nippers, so that the casting does not break, and protect your breathing while sanding. It is glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work here. Paint with a base coat and then with thin coats of acrylics; for meat and skin, shading with oil paints or a thin wash works well. Bring the pulley and the rope out with dry brushing so that they do not disappear in the scene.
