Quickboost 1:48 Spitfire Mk. V exhausts is a resin detail set that replaces the flat plastic exhaust stubs with faithfully rendered parts with hollowed outlets.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin detail set in 1:48 scale adds realistic exhaust stubs to a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. V fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the simplified plastic exhausts from the box with finely cast parts with hollowed outlets and clearly readable welds. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. V was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary British fighter. It was powered by the V12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and from 1941 formed the backbone of the Royal Air Force fighter squadrons on many fronts. The exhaust stacks along the sides of the engine are among the characteristic hallmarks of the Spitfire, and rendering them faithfully lifts the impression of a finished model considerably.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Separate the stubs from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet, because resin dust is harmful. Spray the exhausts in a dark metallic shade and bring them out with rusty and burnt tones using washes and pigments.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
