A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost (Aires) brand. It is not a model of the airplane but a replacement engine cover, that is the cowling, for a build of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vb fighter in the tropical fit. The part replaces the matching section of the base kit and raises the fidelity of the shape of the cowling.
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British fighter of the Second World War with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The Mk. Vb version was among the most widespread, and the tropical fit (Trop) added a dust filter for service in the sandy surroundings of the Mediterranean and North Africa. The engine cover shapes the forward part of the fuselage above the powerplant.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The accessory is meant as a replacement for the matching section of the base model.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
