Rob Taurus 1:48 Spitfire Mk.9 is a vacuum-formed clear canopy for building the British fighter. It is not a model of an aircraft but a refining accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended for building the Spitfire in the Mk.IX version. It replaces the production cockpit canopy with a thinner and optically cleaner part. It is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful versions of the legendary British fighter of the Second World War. A more powerful two-stage Merlin engine gave the Spitfire back its edge in performance in high-altitude combat. The Mk.IX version was built in large numbers and served on many battlefields.
The molding is cut out with a sharp knife along the outline, and the edges are sanded and polished. The thin part makes it possible to show the cockpit open, with the side door lowered as well. It is glued with glue for clear parts; the frames are masked before varnishing.
This is a standalone accessory. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
