About product

Quickboost 1:48 rear-view mirrors for the Spitfire Mk.I

This is a resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from Quickboost (a line from Aires), not a model of the aircraft. The set contains finely cast rear-view mirrors mounted on the canopy frame of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I fighter.

What the accessory is for

The casting replaces a plastic part that is often simplified or too thick. The thin rendering of the mirror is one of the most visible details around the cockpit, so even a small replacement lifts the impression of a model markedly.

Usage tips

  • Wash the mold release agent off the part and let it dry.
  • Cut off the casting block carefully; the part is small and fragile.
  • Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • The face of the mirror can be picked out with a gloss silver paint or with foil.

Who it is for

For modelers who care about the fine details of the cockpit of an early Spitfire.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
