This product is not an airplane model but a resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand (Aires). It holds a set of finely cast fishtail exhaust pipes that replace the parts from the kit and bring a more faithful shape and open outlets. Without the base aircraft kit you cannot use it.
The early Supermarine Spitfire versions Mk.I, Mk.Ia and Mk.IIa used exhaust pipes with a flared end resembling a fish tail. This type of exhaust is a characteristic recognition feature of the early Spitfires, and a fine casting with hollowed-out outlets markedly raises the realism of the forward fuselage.
Carefully separate the parts from the casting block, clean up the mating surfaces and wash the mold release agent off the castings. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Spray the exhausts in burnt metal and rust shades and pick them out with pigments or a wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and requires the base aircraft kit, which is not included in the package.
